Piaggio’s Hybrid Scooter Gets an Upgrade
Piaggio’s Hybrid Scooter Gets an Upgrade
You will be forgiven for not knowing Piaggio sells a plug-in hybrid three-wheeled scooter because aside from not selling it in the U.S., the Mp3 125 Hybrid has been a flop. The Italian company hopes giving the gas-electric ride a bigger engine and better performance will change that. The Euro-only Mp3 300ie is a bigger brother to the first-ever...

Interesting Concept: an Electric Scooter With a Solar Shell
I’m not much of a fan of scooters. I prefer vehicles to have four wheels rather than too, and scooters always struck me as kinda geeky. Anybody who knows me knows I am geeky enough without having to broadcast it to the world. Scooters aren’t all that popular in America, but all over the world they serve as the primary form of transportation...

BMW 1 Series Diesel Police Car Thanks to AC Schnitzer
You got to love it when cops get unconventional. OK, in this case it’s not exactly the cops, but German tuning firm AC Schnitzer that has given the BMW 1 Series diesel the once over, adding, as Jake Blues would put it, “… a cop motor, a 440 cubic inch plant, it’s got cop tires, cop suspensions, cop shocks. Yamaha Electric, Er, Scooter Puts Style First
There is seemingly no end to the outlandish concepts at the Tokyo Auto Show that push the boundaries of design , if not practicality. But even by that measure, Yamaha has gone waaaaay out on a limb with an electric, er, scooter that pretty much redefines the term. The EC-f is purely whimsical and almost certainly nothing more than a design study,...

‘Electric Peugeot’ Is French for ‘Electric Mitsubishi’
French automaker Peugeot-Citroen is going nuts for electric vehicles, but rather than building them it will slap its logo on boatloads of Mitsubishis. The Japanese company has agreed to build 100,000 i-MiEV electric cars for the French company under a contract that runs through 2015, according to Automotive News Europe . It’s a smart move...
